Guinga is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s greatest living composers and guitarists, celebrated for his sophisticated harmonic language and deep immersion in styles like samba, choro, baião, and jazz. He has received multiple Prêmio da Música Brasileira honors (Brazil’s equivalent of the Grammy) - including Best Instrumental Album for Cheio de Dedos, Best Instrumental Song (“Dá o Pé, Loro”), Best Album Production, - and one Latin Grammy nomination for Rasgando Seda in 2012.
