Offered as part of a cultural exchange, this workshop invites composers, guitarists, and students of music to explore Guinga’s masterful language of composition, harmony, and form. Space is limited; RSVP is kindly required.

Guinga is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s greatest living composers and guitarists, celebrated for his sophisticated harmonic language and deep immersion in styles like samba, choro, baião, and jazz. He has received multiple Prêmio da Música Brasileira honors (Brazil’s equivalent of the Grammy) - including Best Instrumental Album for Cheio de Dedos, Best Instrumental Song (“Dá o Pé, Loro”), Best Album Production, - and one Latin Grammy nomination for Rasgando Seda in 2012.

Workshop moderated by Anna Paes, singer, composer, and guitarist, Doctor of Music (UFRJ), Master of Music in the field of Documentation and History, Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.
